The Spice of Life, as is obvious from the title, will give the readers glimpses into the society and culture of Bangladesh and also of the authors reflections on life and nature. This collection of essays describes the finer nuances of life and living at the present time and provides ample food for thought and expresses concern for improvement in the quality of life. The emphasis throughout is on recognition and correction of our faults and stepping towards a better future.

A unique “work of art”. The author has mixed this powerful imagination with his rich and varied experience, which takes us to an altogether different world He is very observant and his observations make us reflective. We are faced with the problems we have grown used to and become indifferent. He makes us aware of and 8rateful for the beauty and bounty of the world we have taken for granted. His occasional humour makes delightful reading.

- Selina Parveen Rahman
Holy Cross College

Muzaffar Abdul Jabbar was born in 1929 in Calcutta where he had his early education at the St. Xavier’s College. Moving over to Dhaka after the Partition in 1947, he served the Technical Services at the then Pakistan Air Force for ten years. Later, he worked successively in a number of industrial enterprises at home and abroad. .

With a rare insight and an imaginative mind, he has always remained engaged in understanding and unraveling the mysteries of life, infusing his writings here and there with spicy wit and humour.

He is associated with the Bangladesh Association for the Aged and the Institute of Geriatric Medicine, both founded by his father, late Professor A.K.M. Abdul Wahed.
