Dr. Ashraf Siddiqui was born in 1927 at Nagbari, Tangail. He is an eminent educationalist and litterateur of Bangladesh and has taught at Dhaka University and government colleges.
He had been Director, Central Board for Development of Bengali, Director General Bangla Academy and Chairman of the national news agency, BSS.
Siddiqui has over fifty publications to his credit, and has received numerous literary awards including the highest state award for culture, the EKUSHEY PADAK.
